Every year, 14,000 children die of preventable diseases – illnesses that can be prevented for a few dollars.
Meanwhile, we go about our lives, feeling powerless in the face of inequality, injustice, or government inaction.
I’m not saying this to make you (or me) feel guilty – it’s just the reality of being human.
But here’s the thing: if more people in wealthy countries gave just a fraction of their income to organisations working to solve the world’s most pressing problems, we could:
🍞 completely end world hunger 💧 provide clean water and sanitation for all
That’s the idea behind the 10% Pledge (and the flexible Trial Pledge): a world where preventable suffering is a thing of the past.
Of course, giving isn’t the only way to make a difference. But it’s a powerful piece of the puzzle — one we each have the ability to act on.
Watch the video below to hear how and why the Pledge began, and meet some of the people who’ve taken it:
And if you want to explore further? I highly recommend this 4-email series on pledging, where we cover the impact of a pledge, share insights from some of our ~10,000 pledgers, and get real about our own experiences.
